1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of DiscordDir (the "Service"), operated by the DiscordDir team ("we", "us", or "our"), accessible at discord-dir.com and through our Discord bot.

By creating an account, submitting a listing, adding our bot to your server, or simply browsing the website, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

2. Description of Service

DiscordDir is a directory platform that allows users to find, submit and promote Discord servers and Discord bots. The Service includes:

• A searchable, filterable listing directory of Discord servers and bots.
• User authentication via Discord OAuth2.
• A submission system for servers and bots pending moderation review.
• A voting and view-tracking system for listed entries.
• A Discord bot that assists with server verification and listing management.
• A user dashboard for managing submitted listings.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without prior notice.

3. Eligibility & Account Registration

You must be at least 13 years old to use DiscordDir, in compliance with Discord's own minimum age requirement. If you are under 18, you should review these Terms with a parent or guardian before using the Service.

Accounts are created through Discord OAuth2 authentication. By logging in, you grant us access to your Discord profile information as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

You must not:

• Create accounts using automated means or bots.
• Share your session with others or allow third parties to access your account.
• Create multiple accounts to circumvent suspensions or bans.

4. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with all applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations. You must not use the Service:

• In any way that violates applicable law or regulation.
• To transmit any unsolicited advertising or promotional material (spam).
• To impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
• To engage in any conduct that restricts or inhibits anyone's use of the Service.
• To introduce viruses, trojans, or other malicious code.
• To attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service, its servers, or connected systems.
• To scrape, crawl, or harvest content or data from the Service using automated tools without prior written consent.
• To manipulate votes, view counts, or any other metrics through automated or artificial means.

5. Prohibited Content & Conduct

The following types of content and conduct are strictly prohibited on DiscordDir. Violations may result in immediate removal of the listing and permanent account suspension.

Illegal & Harmful Content

• Any content that is illegal under applicable law, including content that promotes or facilitates illegal activities.
• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any sexual content involving minors. zero tolerance, always reported.
• Content that incites, promotes, or glorifies violence, terrorism, or self-harm.
• Doxxing or sharing private personal information of any individual without their consent.
• Content that facilitates or promotes the sale or acquisition of illegal drugs, weapons, or counterfeit goods.

Harassment & Hate

• Servers or bots whose primary purpose is to harass, bully, stalk, or intimidate individuals.
• Content that promotes hatred, discrimination, or violence based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, nationality, or other protected characteristics.
• Raiding or coordinated attacks on other Discord servers.

Deception & Manipulation

• Submitting fake, inactive, or abandoned servers or bots with the intent to mislead users.
• Impersonating well-known servers, bots, brands, or public figures.
• Providing false descriptions, inflated statistics, or misleading information in a listing.
• Vote manipulation, including self-voting bots or using multiple accounts to vote.
• Phishing links, scam invites, or anything designed to deceptively obtain user credentials or information.

Platform Integrity

• Submitting servers or bots that violate Discord's Terms of Service or Community Guidelines.
• Servers primarily used for spam, advertising farms, or mass data collection.
• Bots designed to perform unauthorised actions on servers (e.g., mass-banning, token grabbing, credential stealing).
• Uploading, posting, or linking to malware, exploits, or harmful code.
• Any attempt to defraud, manipulate, or abuse the DiscordDir platform, its staff, or its users.

NSFW Content

• Adult or NSFW content must be clearly marked using the NSFW toggle when submitting a listing.
• Explicit sexual content may only be listed if it is permitted by the applicable platform policies and properly age-gated on the underlying Discord server.
• NSFW content involving minors is prohibited under all circumstances. zero tolerance.

6. User Submissions & Listings

By submitting a listing, you represent and warrant that:

• You are the owner, administrator, or authorised representative of the server or bot being submitted.
• All information provided is accurate, complete, and not misleading.
• The listing does not violate any applicable laws or third-party rights.
• You have read and agree to the Prohibited Content section above.

You grant DiscordDir a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display, index and promote your listing (including its name, description, icon, and tags) as part of the Service.

All submissions are subject to moderation review. We reserve the right to reject, edit, or remove any listing at any time for any reason, including but not limited to violation of these Terms. We are not obligated to notify you of the reason for removal.

Approved listings may be later removed if the underlying server or bot is later found to be in violation of these Terms, if the server bot is removed, or if the listing becomes inactive.

7. The DiscordDir Bot

The DiscordDir bot ("the Bot") is used to verify Discord server membership for the purposes of listing on the platform. By adding the Bot to your server, you acknowledge and agree that:

• The Bot will read basic server information (name, ID, member count, icon, description, invite links) for the purpose of creating and maintaining your listing.
• The Bot may create a permanent invite link to your server to facilitate discovery on the platform.
• The Bot does not read, store, or process individual member data or private messages.
• Removing the Bot from your server will cause your listing to be marked inactive and may ultimately result in its removal from the directory.
• You must ensure that adding the Bot and creating invite links complies with your server's own rules and any applicable Discord policies.

We are not responsible for any issues arising from the Bot's presence in your server, including any unintended actions caused by permission misconfiguration. Always grant the Bot only the permissions it requires.

8. Intellectual Property

The DiscordDir brand, logo, website design, code, and original content are the intellectual property of DiscordDir and may not be reproduced, distributed, or used commercially without prior written permission.

DiscordDir is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Discord Inc. "Discord" is a trademark of Discord Inc.

User-submitted content (server names, descriptions, icons) remains the property of the respective owners. By submitting content to DiscordDir you grant us the licence described in Section 6.

If you believe any content on DiscordDir infringes your intellectual property rights, please contact us with a DMCA-compliant notice at the address in Section 13.

9. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

We do not guarantee that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
• Any listings, descriptions, statistics, or other user-submitted information is accurate or up to date.
• External Discord servers or bots linked from our platform are safe, legitimate, or compliant with Discord's policies.

User-generated content disclaimer: DiscordDir acts as a passive intermediary and is not the author of, and takes no responsibility for, user-submitted listings. We cannot pre-screen all submitted content and do not continuously monitor listings after approval. If you encounter a listing that violates these Terms, please report it to us immediately.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, DiscordDir shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from:

• Your use of, or inability to use, the Service.
• Any content posted, submitted, or obtained through the Service.
• Interactions you have with servers, bots, or users found via DiscordDir.
• Unauthorised access to or alteration of your transmissions or data.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising out of or relating to these Terms shall not exceed £100 (or the equivalent in your local currency).

10. Third-Party Services

DiscordDir integrates with and links to third-party services. We have no control over, and accept no responsibility for, the content or practices of these services:

• Discord Inc.. Authentication (OAuth2), CDN (avatars, icons). Governed by Discord's Privacy Policy.
• Google Fonts. Web fonts (Inter, Space Grotesk). Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
• Font Awesome. Icon library delivered via CDN. Governed by Font Awesome's Privacy Policy.
• External Discord servers and bots. Any servers or bots listed in the directory are independently operated and DiscordDir accepts no liability for their content or actions.

Links to external sites are provided for convenience only. We do not endorse any linked site or its content.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or engaged in conduct harmful to other users, the Service, or third parties.

On termination:

• Your account and associated listings may be removed.
• You lose the right to access any account-related features.
• Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and intellectual property sections) shall continue to apply.

You may request deletion of your account and data at any time by contacting us (see Section 13). Deletion requests will be processed within 30 days.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be announced via the website. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision.

Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
